We used our 2022 audit as an opportunity to establish our Environmental & Sustainability policy - and find more ways in which we can contribute to the safeguarding of our planet. A big motivator for this project was to become a corporate supporter of The World Land Trust, to help with the protection and preservation of natural habitats.
Following our application and submission of our due diligence and Environmental & Sustainability policies, we are pleased to announce to have joined the Corporate Supporters programme with the World Land Trust, through the BUY AN ACRE programme.
For every purchase made on our online store The MAVERICKS Way, we donate 5% of the sale towards safeguarding an acre of land. Every £100 GBP donation will purchase one acre of habitat and protect it in perpetuity. The BUY AN ACRE initiative currently supports land purchases in Argentina, Kenya and Patagonia.
In collaboration with sustainability consultant Inge Westerink, MAVERICKS Life Co. has developed a long-term sustainability code of practice and vision for a conscious approach to our business practices.
We have loved working with Inge Westerink, and would highly recommend her consultancy services to any company looking to develop its sustainability strategy and policy.
